Popteen is a very popular teen girls' magazine in Japan, and they wanted to bring the brand to the US as a social networking site. I was hired to help strategize the features and content, create the info architecture for the site, and oversee the design. The original look they wanted was quite intense, but if you look at the current site they've (happily) toned it down some.
