Concrete Media
COFOUNDER | CREATIVE DIRECTOR
I cofounded Concrete Media with Dan Pelson and Sean van der Linden in August 1996. The old-school image below is from our original website; I had to retrieve it from the Way Back Machine (www.archive.org) since I haven't saved much from back then.
At Concrete we consulted to and built sites for many clients, including launching Bertelsman's BOL.com (designed to compete with Amazon) across 5 countries. Back then we did a lot of teaching and evangelizing about the power of the internet, because most people didn't quite believe it would last.
We also created and incubated sites internally, including Bolt.com and the GirlsOn Network (which we later sold to Oxygen Media). Eventually we spun Bolt off as a separate company and I left Concrete to help lead Bolt full-time.
Concrete Media later became Concrete Media Construction, and then later ceased to exist, sadly.
